Mary decided to bake a cake for her mother’s birthday. While picking up the ingredients and decorations from the grocery shop, she could not help feeling excited about the idea.
She diligently followed the instructions from the cookbook, hoping that her mother would like her creation at the end.
An hour later, the cake, fresh from the oven, looked flat and burnt. It was such a let down.
Her father consoled her, “That was a good try, girl!” They finally got Mary’s mother her favourite strawberry cake from a bakery, just in time for the birthday party.
